Halifax local claims tiny $30 burger he bought from food truck was worthwhile

Halifax — Haligonian Jeremy Pryor is insistent that the small $30 burger he just purchased from popular food truck Mad Cow was worth the price.

The burger, technically a slider, consisted of a smaller than average beef patty, a single piece of romaine lettuce and one of three mayonnaises atop a store-bought bun.

When asked why he paid $30 for such a small portion, Pryor shrugged his shoulders.

“Because it’s cool, I guess. It’s artisanal,” he said. “Look how many piercings that line cook has. Look at the server’s tattoos. The line-up was crazy. It was the place to be for a hipster 20-something.”

Sources report that Pryor was grinning broadly as he took out the designer toothpick holding the burger together. His smile appeared to fade a bit after his first bite and left his face altogether after he finished the burger with a second bite. Pryor then stared downcast into space until his phone beeped, prompting him to get back into the office.

When asked about the burger later, Pryor said, “I think it tasted pretty good. It was a fairly decent price. Overall, it was a fun lunch.”

But when asked if he would eat at Mad Cow again, he reportedly started to get defensive and irritated. “What do I care what you think?” he asked. “So what if I spend a little bit more than usual on lunch? Now get the hell out of my office.”

Sources close to Pryor later confirmed that he is a dick when he’s hungry.
