New Brunswick makes national news, Gallant calls mom

Fredericton — Immediately following the announcement of a bilateral health accord between New Brunswick and the federal government, reporters overheard Premier Brian Gallant speaking to someone on his cellphone presumed to be his mother.

“Did you see? Did you see!?” Gallant shouted with glee.

During the phone call, eavesdroppers discovered Gallant’s true motivation for the agreement.

“Honestly, I just wanted to hang out with Justin longer. Mama, he’s so cool. His office has an air hockey table. After signing, he said I can drop by any time and take as many Pepsis from the fridge as I want… OK Mama, I’ll only take one.”

Not everyone is as excited as the Gallant family. Following the announcement, Quebec Premier Philipe Couillard promptly blocked Gallant on Facebook and unliked the “New Brunswick/Nouveau-Brunswick” fan page.

“Don’t even ask…” Couillard vague-posted.
