Report: Teenage son not doing anything in there

Moncton — The old saying goes, “When one door closes, another one opens.” But that is not the case with 16-year-old Moncton teen Brandon Jackson.

The young man has started to spend extended periods of time behind closed doors in his parents’ home. But, according to a new report from Jackson himself, he’s not doing anything in there.

“‘Nothing!'” said his exasperated mother Lisa Jackson. “When I ask him what he’s doing in there, he always says the same goddamned thing — ‘Nothing!’ What is he doing in there for hours and hours on end? It’s not nothing!”

In recent weeks, only-child Brandon started to spend extended hours alone in his room with the door closed. His mother, who works from a home office, says he has plenty of options for activities in his room. The teenager has access to a smartphone, an Xbox, and a computer with high-speed internet. But whenever he is asked what he is doing hidden away in his boy-cave, it’s always the same reply — “Nothing!”

“I want to respect his privacy, but ‘nothing’ isn’t an answer,” complained his mother. “Is he talking to a girl? A pedophile? Is it a Satanist? Or worse, those Trump people in the States? Who the hell knows.

“Apparently, the person who carried him in her womb for nine months just gets one-word answers now. That’s just effin’ great.”

According to his mother, Brandon’s isolation from his her watchfulness has now taken on a new dimension.

“Last night, he said he was going to take a shower, and he was in that bathroom for over 90 minutes! Who the hell takes 90-minute showers? I asked him if anything was wrong and he said, ‘No Mom! God!’ — just like that! Nice, eh?!”

The Manatee was able to approach Brandon briefly while returning to his bedroom after getting a snack. But when we asked what he was doing in there, he just stared at us silently and closed his bedroom door right in our goddamned face.
