Vaccinated Americans grateful that they can finally get away from ‘the crazies’

Ottawa — Americans love their country, but that doesn’t mean they don’t need a break from it once in a while.

Yesterday, the federal government announced that fully vaccinated Americans will be able to travel to Canada without quarantining starting August 9.

The news could not have come at a better time, as many Americans are reaching the breaking point with some of their countrymen.

“I love my friends, I love my neighbours, I love my family…well, most of them,” confessed fully vaccinated American Judy Rushmore. “But, I just need to get the hell away from here for a while.

“And, I don’t mean to another place in America either with the same kind of thing happening…I mean the whole damn country. It’s driving me absolutely nuts.

“The media is hyping up the divisions in beliefs 24/7, and a lot of people are just beyond reasoning with,” she said. “You can’t even have a conversation with people anymore without it going completely off the rails over the pettiest little thing. Seventy-five per cent of the time it’s a 100 per cent shit-show!

“If I don’t leave here completely for a while, I’m going to lose my ever-loving mind and it might not come back,” she laughed.

When asked if she had any hesitation over the vaccinations, she shrugged. “I mean, I definitely waited until the first million or so had theirs done, but then I was all in.

“Now, I’m like if it gets me the hell out of here for a few weeks, give me all of the vaccines. I don’t even care anymore. Load me up baby!” she said, slapping her arm. “Mama needs a break. Let’s do this!”
