Rusagonis — A New Brunswick man now miraculously possesses all the knowledge he needs to win any debate on the topic of GMOs following a YouTube viewing of Showcase’s Penn & Teller: Bullshit! late Monday. GMOs, or genetically modified organisms, are any organism whose genetic blueprint has been altered by means of genetic engineering technology. This technique is popular with the foods humans consume every day and has sparked a lot of controversy over whether we should actually be eating these products. The episode in question reveals that GMOs are completely harmless and are actually needed to support our exponentially growing population of human consumers.
Barry Richardson, 27, says the show has completely changed the way he looks at the the world and he sees no need to investigate the topic any further than what two Las Vegas magicians had to say. “The debate is over!”explained Richardson when The Manatee’s news staff asked him what the strongest selling point of this particular episode was.
Richardson has since moved on to become an expert on the world’s oil crisis after glazing over a headline from The Globe & Mail, and has recently added “U.S. monetary system evangelist” to his LinkedIn profile after sitting through 20 minutes of a Matt Damon-narrated Netflix documentary discussing the 2008 market crash.
