Woman ends email with ‘let me know if you have any questions,’ doesn’t really mean it

Halifax — Candice Legweak, a senior sales consultant for a software development firm, ends most of her emails in the same polite fashion: “Please let me know if you have any questions about this.” But, it’s recently been discovered that she in fact doesn’t care whether anyone has any questions about the content of her emails, and would actually rather people leave her the hell alone.

“I wasn’t 100 percent certain about what she was asking for in an email she sent last week,” admitted co-worker Jason Connors, “so I did what the email instructed, and replied with followup questions — she never got back to me, though.”

Connors told The Manatee that he waited a week before going to see Legweak in person to discuss the matter.

“I went to her office and asked if she ever received the email I sent with the question I had and she just glared at me,” he recalled. “It was weird — she was looking at me like I had two heads or something.”

Our reporter asked Legweak about the described incident. “Yeah, I was looking at him weird; he is weird. I mean, who does that?” she asked. “I’ve been doing this a long, long time and never once has anyone actually asked something about an email. Everyone knows that’s how you’re supposed to end emails — it’s just proper etiquette.”

Legweak went on to explain how dumb she thought Connors’ question was. “All the email even said was to make sure you have your final sales figures in by the end of the year. And this jackass writes back asking if I meant calendar or fiscal year. I mean, I sent the email on December 23rd — which ‘end of year’ do you think I’m talking about?”

Tensions have been high in the office since Connors confronted Legweak, and the two who were once sort of friends now don’t speak. The falling-out has made Legweak reevaluate how she’ll be ending her emails moving forward.

“I think from now on I’ll be saying something like, ‘If you have any questions about any of this at all, figure it out your own damn self.'”
