Scrap yard CEO passes ‘burst of pressure’ during Saint John press conference

Saint John — CEO Herb Black, also known as the “Scrap King,”  is denying that he passed gas during a press conference in Saint John.

“I don’t think you reporters know the difference between flatulence and a vibration,” Black told reporters.

Black’s metal recycling plant on the west side of Saint John has been issued a stop-work order after several reports of explosions and possible environmental infractions. Black travelled to Saint John last week to explain the situation, but reporters had trouble focussing on the CEO’s statement.

“Are you farting?” interrupted one reporter.

“No, those are just bursts of pressure,” replied Black.

As the bursts continued Black stated, “I think I am the victim of my lunch, but I am not the creator,” explaining that the chef must have camouflaged high-fibre ingredients in his soup.

Local 13-year-old and self-described “Fart King” Joshua McGovern confirmed the sounds were indeed flatulence.

“I’m kind of jealous, actually. I think I have a challenger,” McGovern said giggling, like annoying 13-year-olds do.
